Description
Tracks Update: You can select your track when you Sign Up or you can Select on the first evening of SSI.
In the Summer of 2022, Central Christian College of the Bible opened the Saint's Summer Institute. This four-day intensive experience blended the best of higher education and summer camp. Ever wonder how we know the Bible is historically accurate? How do we really know what those old archaic languages really mean? Is putting a sermon and worship plan together really all that hard? How do you even begin to know what God is calling you to? Well, it went so well the first year that we are bringing it back with more tracks that will encourage students to dive deeper into their faith!
Central Christian College of the Bible has created a teaching and interactive environment to help students who are serious about their faith grow in their knowledge and understanding of the bible and the world around them. If you are in high school and want to get a taste of what it is like to study the Bible and deepen your faith in Christ, come explore one of our six paths in the summer of 2023! The Institute will run July 30th - Aug 2nd, 2023 on the Central campus, and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Students can complete the registration form and payment to reserve their spots. Each of the five tracks will be limited to 10 students each for a total of 50 students at the Institute. On the final night of the event, we will have a student showcase where students, within their track, will showcase and highlight their experience. Parents, grandparents, friends, and even siblings are invited to attend the showcase!
COST: $99 per person including food, lodging, entertainment, and resources for the intensive experience. This is a non-refundable payment. Students who are entering high school through those who have just graduated are eligible for the Saints Summer Institute.
Track Descriptions
(You can Pre-select your track when you sign up or select it on the first evening on campus)
Biblical Archaeology and Languages
Students will work with Professors Walt Harper and Darryl Ammon to experience the role and impact that archaeology and language has on biblical understanding. How does digging in the dirt help us understand the people and culture of the bible? What techniques are used to dig in the earth and how do they even know where to start digging? These are just a few of the topics Professor Harper will teach through in this track. Students will also get introduced to how language interpretation is done and can expect to dabble with such things as Egyptian, Aramaic, and other ancient languages.
Preaching
Students will work with Dr. Eric Stevens, CCCB New Testament Professor. Students will get hands-on experience in learning how to write and structure a sermon. By the end of the camp, students will have a sermon that they created that can be taken home and shared with their church or youth group. Dr. Stevens will teach basic interpretation and exegesis and how to transform that into a message that others can learn from.
Contemporary Issues in Christianity
Students will work with a CCCB Christian Counseling Program faculty members to examine topical issues in our world today and learn how to think through the biblical implications of those issues and how we begin to apply wisdom and discernment to our world and the people within it. Each session will introduce a new topic and discussion that will help students show the love of Christ to individuals within those situations.
Bible Bowl Prep Camp
Experience three days on the campus of CCCB and get a jump start on preparing for the Fall 2023 Bible Bowl season. Working with Bible Bowl coaches across the region, we will focus on the first block of the new text. In this Prep Camp, you will have the opportunity to learn memorization techniques, develop personal study skills, learn the background of the text, compete in several practice games, and get to know your fellow Bible Bowlers.
Digital Christians
This track is for students who have a penchant for communication and want to learn more about how to share their faith in a digital world. As time goes on, we are starting to understand the impact social media is having in our world. The Bible Project is a perfect example of Christians making a huge impact in the digital space. This track is going to introduce students to the tools of creating in the digital world, to work in this space, and how we can share our faith in impactful ways with the digital world.

Questions & Answers
There are many ways this will differ from a summer camp and there will be some areas that will overlap.
1) Students will be working directly with college faculty to go to a depth in bible engagement few, if any, camps can offer. They will be able to work intimately with an expert and learn new and exciting truths about God's word.
2) We will host evening sessions that will be entertaining and fruitful for students. Students will get to interact with our department of Career Calling (GPS Office) to begin to understand how to hear and prepare for their calling. They will also get to hear from Alumni and Board members of Central and learn from those they brush shoulders with during the camp.
3) They will have a sermon, a lesson, and/or an experience that they can bring back to their youth group and lead.
4) This event is not about fun and games and sermons. This is for students who are curious about their faith and want to explore at a depth that would be invigorating and challenging.
5) Guests of the Institute will have air-conditioned rooms (unlike some summer camps).
CCCB camp teams will serve as dorm hosts and worship leaders which many students might have engaged with at a regional summer camp, but that just means there will be a friendly and familiar face on our campus.

Yes! Even if you are attending another college in the fall of 2023, we would encourage you to attend.
Students will be assigned two to a room and will be assigned to stay with another student who is not in the same track. Students will need to bring bedding (twin-sized), toiletries, a couple of clothing changes, and their Bible.
Dorms will be overseen by our professional staff (Resident Directors) and our camp teams. The young men will stay in one of our dorms and our young ladies will be housed in a separate dorm.
