Saints Summer Institute 2022
Description
In the Summer of 2022, Central Christian College of the Bible will open the Saint's Summer Institute. This four-day intensive experience will blend the best of education and summer camp. Ever wonder how we know the bible is historically accurate? How do we really know what those old archaic languages really mean? Is putting a sermon and worship plan together really all that hard? How do you even begin to know what God is calling you to?
Central Christian College of the Bible is creating a teaching and interactive environment to help students who are serious about their faith grow in their knowledge and understanding of the bible. If you are in high school and want to get a taste of what it is like to study the bible, come explore one of our five paths in the summer of 2022! The Institute will run July 31st - Aug 3rd, 2022 on the Central campus and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Students can complete the registration form and pay for camp to reserve their spot. Each of the 3 tracks will be limited to 10 students per track for a total of 30 students at the Institute. On the final night of the event, we will have a student showcase where students, within their track, will showcase and highlight their experience. Parents, grandparents, friends, and even siblings are invited to attend the showcase!
COST: $89 per person including food, lodging, entertainment, and resources for the intensive experience. This is a non-refundable payment. Students who are entering high school through those who have just graduated are eligible for the Saints Summer Institute.
Track Descriptions
Biblical Archeology and Languages (7/10 registered)
Students will work with Professors Walt Harper and Darryl Ammon to experience the role and impact that archeology and language has on biblical understanding. How does digging in the dirt help us understand the people and culture of the bible? What techniques are used to dig in the earth and how do they even know where to start digging? These are just a few of the topics Professor Harper will teach through in this track. Students will also get introduced to how language interpretation is done and can expect to dabble with such things as Egyptian, Aramaic, and other ancient languages.
Preaching - (4/10 registered)
Students will work with Dr. Billy Strother, CCCB's Preaching Professor. Students will get a hands-on experience in learning how to write and structure a sermon. By the end of the camp, students will have a sermon that they created that can be taken home and shared with their church or youth group. Dr. Strother will teach basic interpretation and exegesis and how to transform that into a message that others can learn from.
Contemporary Issues in Christianity - (6/10 registered)
Students will work with Professor of Counseling, Dr. Kris Small, to examine topical issues in our world today and learn how to think through the biblical implications of those issues and how we begin to apply wisdom and discernment to our world and the people within it. Each session will introduce a new topic and discussion that will help students show the love of Christ to individuals within those situations.

Questions & Answers
There are many ways this will differ from a summer camp and there will be some areas that will overlap.
1) Students will be working directly with college faculty to go to a depth in bible engagement few if any camps can offer. They will be able to work intimately with an expert and learn new and exciting truths about God's word.
2) We will host evening sessions that will be entertaining and fruitful for students. Students will get to interact with our department of Career Calling (Graduate Placement Services) to begin to understand how to hear and prepare for their calling. They will also get to hear from Alumni and Board members of Central and learn from those they brush shoulders with during the camp.
3) They will have a sermon, a lesson, and an experience that they can bring back to their youth group and lead.
4) This is not about fun and games and sermons. This is for students who are curious about their faith and want to explore at a depth that would be invigorating and challenging.
5) Guests of the Institute will have air-conditioned rooms (unlike some summer camps).
CCCB camp teams will serve as dorm hosts and worship leaders which many students might have engaged with at a regional summer camp, but that just means there will be a friendly and familiar face on our campus.
Yes!
Yes! Even if you are attending another college in the fall of 2022, we would encourage you to attend.
Students will be assigned two to a room and will be assigned to stay with another student not in the same track. Students will need to bring bedding, toiletries, a couple of clothing changes, their bible, and if they are in the worship track - their instrument.
Dorms will be overseen by our professional staff (Resident Directors) and our camp teams. The young men will stay in one of our dorms and our young ladies will be housed in a separate dorm.
